Grand Opening | 1995
“Though it’s unlikely to be repeated often as the season unfolds, the very first chant heard when the Nissan Pavilion [now Jiffy Lube Live] opened for business was ‘let’s go disco!’” Jiffy Lube Live opened its gates on June 3, 1995 with highly anticipated performances by Village People, Laura Branigan, Rose Royce and The Tramps.
Fleetwood Mac | 1997
In 1997, Fleetwood Mac announced a highly anticipated reunion tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Rumors.” On August 12, the band was not the only ones celebrating a milestone, the pavilion welcomed its 1,000,000th fan after opening just two years prior.
Farm-Aid | 1999 & 2000
Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews Band, Barenaked Ladies, Susan Tedeschi & more brought Farm-Aid to the Washington, DC-area for the first time on September 12, 1999. Farm-Aid returned the following year to celebrate its 15th Anniversary and again in 2016.
